FCDC and Future Growth Forum Sign MoU to Unlock Investment and Growth Opportunities in Kenya’s Frontier Counties

The Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC) has entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Future Growth Forum (FGF), establishing a framework for collaboration aimed at accelerating sustainable development, investment, and innovation in Kenya’s frontier counties.

The partnership seeks to promote inclusive economic growth, strengthen institutional capacity, and connect the frontier counties to national, regional, and global markets. Through this MoU, FCDC and FGF will collaborate in policy advocacy, investment promotion, capacity building, research, and global engagement.

Speaking during the signing, Abdulaziz Billow Ali, CEO of the Future Growth Forum, highlighted the significance of the partnership:

“This MoU is more than just an agreement—it is a commitment to unlock the full potential of Kenya’s frontier counties. By connecting local opportunities with global markets, we are creating pathways for inclusive growth, innovation, and sustainable development.”

He added that FGF’s role will be to bring together investors, private sector leaders, and development partners to showcase the frontier counties as hubs of opportunity:

“The world is looking for the next frontier of growth, and Kenya’s frontier counties have the talent, resources, and ambition to lead. Our goal is to ensure these counties are not only part of Kenya’s economic story but also contributors to the global economy.”

On its part, the Frontier Counties Development Council emphasized that the partnership aligns with county development priorities, ensuring that communities benefit directly from investments and capacity-building initiatives.

The MoU will be implemented through a Joint Coordination Committee, which will design annual work plans, monitor progress, and oversee joint initiatives. The agreement will remain in effect for three years, with room for renewal by mutual consent.

This collaboration marks a new chapter in positioning Kenya’s frontier counties as competitive investment destinations while ensuring that growth is both inclusive and sustainable.
